Commerce-Slave Trade

Today at the constitutional convention, a critical compromise was cast between the southern and the northern states over the trade of slaves. It has been decided that the government can regulate trade but it cannot tax the exports of any state or regulate the slave trade for 20 years.The animosity that some people have toward slavery is displayed best in the quote,  "Slavery is a slow Poison, which is daily contaminating the Minds & Morals of our People." - George Mason, Luckily the delegates were able to come to a compromise and thus preventing the possibility of the new constitution breaking apart.
